[[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) If you watch Avatar: Seven Havens on Paramount+, the city's namesake has now returned as a Haven called New Ba Sing Se. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) The show revealed this Haven during season 1 and depicts a society still clinging to old traditions while its people go hungry. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) The final three episodes of season 1 debuted on Paramount+ on Friday, October 30. [[2]](https://decider.com/2026/10/31/seven-havens-avatar-season-2-when-will-s2-come-out-paramount-plus/) The season has 13 episodes in total. [[2]](https://decider.com/2026/10/31/seven-havens-avatar-season-2-when-will-s2-come-out-paramount-plus/) ## What New Ba Sing Se shows at the summit New Ba Sing Se's representatives arrive at Ellora's summit on sky bison decorated with an emblem resembling the Earth Kingdom's square-holed national emblem. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) An Akashan visitor mockingly calls them historians who have ventured out of their crumbling haven. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) Nisha remarks from afar that they live as though it is still ancient times. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) The mockery has a cause. Chancellor Kayoko asks the assembled Havens for benders in exchange for food, and New Ba Sing Se's envoy Kuzon admits their circumstances are desperate. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) Kuzon says the Haven has experienced the worst famine in its long history and offers to trade benders for some of Ellora's harvest. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) Bender birth rates are declining worldwide, presumably because the Anomaly has stagnated the flow of spiritual energy. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) ## Pavi's next chakra The season 1 finale sends Avatar Pavi on a quest to the Floating Isles to solve that Haven's problems and unlock her second chakra. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) In The Last Airbender, Guru Pathik calls the second chakra the water chakra, which deals with pleasure and is blocked by guilt. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) Chakras have to be opened in a set order. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) According to the sequence in Pavi's cosmic vision, her next destination after the Floating Isles should be the yellow Haven in the northeastern corner of the world map shown in the opening sequence. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) In the Last Airbender episode 'The Guru,' Guru Pathik says the third, yellow chakra is the fire chakra, which deals with willpower and is blocked by shame. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) ## Twin avatars and a story without a clear villain The show has twin avatars, Nisha and Pavi, two nine-year-olds with the fate of the world on their shoulders. [[3]](https://gizmodo.com/the-season-finale-of-avatar-seven-havens-book-one-got-there-in-the-end-2000833050) Nisha inadvertently caused her parents' death and the mutilation of her twin, after which their parents grabbed Pavi and abandoned Nisha. [[3]](https://gizmodo.com/the-season-finale-of-avatar-seven-havens-book-one-got-there-in-the-end-2000833050) In the book one finale, Pavi alone dismantles the red geometric shape engulfing Allura, while Nisha watches in shame as she cannot unlock her own blocked chakra. [[3]](https://gizmodo.com/the-season-finale-of-avatar-seven-havens-book-one-got-there-in-the-end-2000833050) Showrunner Sehaj Sethi said at New York Comic Con that she wrote the show without a clear antagonist. [[3]](https://gizmodo.com/the-season-finale-of-avatar-seven-havens-book-one-got-there-in-the-end-2000833050) ## How the creators plan the seasons ahead According to co-creator Michael Dante DiMartino in an IGN interview, the overarching Seven Havens story is mapped out across four seasons, while book 1 was set entirely in the fortified city of Ellora. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) DiMartino said all the Seven Havens will be covered by the end of the series. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) The show's creators have confirmed that future seasons will visit more than one Haven each. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) They also told IGN that the relationship between the Havens and chakras is central to the series' overarching design. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) The article counts six more chakras to be opened across three seasons, an average of two per season. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) Co-executive producer Sehaj Sethi described aligning the story structure with the characters' emotional development as one of the production's greatest challenges. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) ## What it means for you If you have finished the first season, more is coming: Avatar: Seven Havens has been renewed for a second season. [[2]](https://decider.com/2026/10/31/seven-havens-avatar-season-2-when-will-s2-come-out-paramount-plus/) It has already been renewed for Seasons 3 and 4 as well. [[2]](https://decider.com/2026/10/31/seven-havens-avatar-season-2-when-will-s2-come-out-paramount-plus/) An official season 2 release date has not yet been announced. [[2]](https://decider.com/2026/10/31/seven-havens-avatar-season-2-when-will-s2-come-out-paramount-plus/) The article expects Season 2 to debut in late summer or early fall 2027 on Paramount+, and this is an expectation, not an announced date. [[2]](https://decider.com/2026/10/31/seven-havens-avatar-season-2-when-will-s2-come-out-paramount-plus/) When the second season arrives, watch for the yellow Haven in the northeastern corner of the opening sequence's world map, which is Pavi's expected next stop after the Floating Isles. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) Because future seasons will visit more than one Haven each, expect more than one destination per season. [[1]](https://www.polygon.com/avatar-seven-havens-season-2-new-ba-sing-se-theory/) The show is animated by La Chouette Compagnie.
